I am a homemaker, mother, wife, flake, stressed person, dreamer, escapist. My family and I live in Ohio, I am a transplant here, originally from California. I am a mommy to a wonderful baby named Squish (names may be changed to protect the innocent).

I enjoy crafting, cooking, creating, painting, pillaging and protecting. As a SAHM of an infant I am currently finding my creative side to be screaming for an escape, but my practical side is saying “wash the dishes”. With this blog I will have the opportunity to brag about my creativity while giving me an excuse to flex my creative muscles.

Pizza Bagels

My Lovely Hubbie makes this WONDERFUL dinner called Pizza Bagels. I love pizza bagel night. We always make extra for either midnight munchies or for breakfast. They are super yummy cold!

Ingredients:

bagels (one per person plus extra for left overs)
pizza sauce
bag of shredded cheese
spices: garlic powder, onion powder and oregano
olive oil

Pre-heat oven to 450.

Once warmed place opened bagels sliced side down and toast for roughly 5 minutes (or just before they turn crispy).
Liberally apply pizza sacue on top. Lovely Hubbie like’s Ragu Traditional.
Add pepperoni slices. This step is optional but it is suggested that if you do so tear your slices up.
Even more liberally add shredded cheese. Shredded Italian Mix is the desired cheese for Pizza Bagels in this house.
Shake on garlic powder, onion powder and oregano. Lovely Hubbie would tell you that it is almost impossible to add too much oregano.
Lastly lightly drizzle olive oil on top. We used olive oil infused with red pepper flakes.

Bake until the cheese turns slightly brown. About 5 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and ENJOY!

Ale’s Room

Ale is a very fun imaginative little 3 year old. She’s a lot of fun to play with! One afternoon she and I spent 20 minutes pretending we were seeds waiting to sprout and eventually we became flowers! This was her idea not mine. She is amazing! Her mom is amazing too! She was the photographer at our wedding. Anyone in the Youngstown, Ohio - Pittsburgh, PA area ought to look her up. She’s on my blogroll. :-)

She and her mom asked for a fairy room, I hope they enjoy!

E was 6 when I painted this for him. He is a pretty awesome kid. :-) He and I used to bake ALL the TIME! Painted around 2009.

Connor’s Dino Room

The same little boy who had a space bedroom also got a dinosaur bedroom! How lucky is that?!?!?! :-) I remember he was VERY INSISTENT that he have a T-Rex painted and that the T-Rex did not have teeth. He was super cute. :-) Painted around 2008.

Connor was a sweet little boy who was 4 years old at the time I painted this room. Up until this point I had only painted rooms for adults, this was my first kid’s room. Painted around 2007.

Painting Fun

I’ve been busy painting a little girl’s room, she and her mom want it to be fairy themed. I’ll post pictures when it is done right now it doesn’t look like all that much. I did have fun organizing my paint today in a color wheel! I thought I would share it. :-)

Strawberry Picking

It sounds funny to say that I went strawberry picking for the first time ever today. Funny when you find out that I lived for almost 5 years in Santa Maria, CA which is quite possibly the strawberry capitol of America. Seriously, look at the plastic clam shell container in your fridge containing strawberries. There is a very decent chance it is from Santa Maria, or within 100 miles of it. In fact I never even ate a strawberry the whole time I was there. :-(

Today Lovely Hubbie and I went picking and picked 8 quarts of strawberries! I have been craving strawberries like no one’s business. More accurately: craving making things with strawberries.

Today I made Strawberry Lavender Jam, which I will talk about tomorrow. I plan to bake a strawberry pie hopefully tomorrow and I’ll probably make more jam! Maybe this one: Strawberry-Lime Vanilla Jam.

The field we visited was owned/operated by the White House Fruit Farm. I’ll be going back next month to pick up some Sour Cherries!
