Can you tell that I’m inspired by these bugs from Stamp’n Up? I just think they are so fun to color! A quick Google search reveals that there are 950,000 species of insects, coloring them has endless possibilities!
In addition to being inspired by this stamp set, I was also inspired by a video and blog post made by Jennifer McGuire. Her pattern stamping technique was the first time I watched something that I thought was incredibly difficult and realized that it could actually be technically possible for me to do. It was the first video that spoke to me that I could make amazing cards. I watch a lot of Jennifer McGuire’s videos.
Inspired by her videos I did a similar technique with these bugs. They are heat embossed with a gold glittery embossing powder and then Copic colored using: BG72, E15, E33, G94, N2, N4, R59, Y00, YG21, YG25, YG95, YR14.
On some generic brown cardstock (Recollections brand, maybe?) I heat embossed the gold stripe and the “Happy Birthday” sentiment. That gold stripe was another technique I learned from watching a Jennifer McGuire video.
Don’t judge my cardstock choice. 😉 I’ve spent so much money stocking up on amazing dies and stamps, not to mention Copics, that I haven’t focused much on cardstock yet! Both the bug panel and the card base are Neenah Solar White in 110lb.
I hope you like this card it was fun to create! Thank you for viewing!
