You may, or may not, remember a photo I took of my daughter playing in my craft room.
This day was a really important day. This day is the day that Marcia, from The Frolicking Fairy, and I came up with the MOST brilliant idea!
Marcia, the Goddess that she is, and I want to bring our children into our craft rooms on a regular basis. Not just the occasional treat for our children, but a regular event, and we want YOUR kids in your craft rooms too!
Often times we think of the crafting supplies in our houses as ours vs theirs. OUR expensive markers, OUR heavy duty card stock. THEIR construction paper, THEIR crayons. Our goal is to bridge that gap and to bring our children into our spaces. Teach them the respect of our supplies, and open our minds to what they can bring to our creative processes.
Every month Get Kids Crafty! will host a blog hop, sharing our experiences in bringing our children into our craft rooms. We will share Pinterest ideas, various blogs that inspire us, and other projects loosely based around a theme. We’ll find books in a variety of age ranges (under 3 years, 3-5 years, 5-8 years) that tie into our theme which you can find in your local libraries or bookstores.
Each quarter we’ll hold a challenge where we’ll ask for you to share your child’s masterpiece, inspired by our theme. We will randomly choose a winner for a special prize!
So, if you have children (preferably under the age of 8), are crafty, and have an active blog, we may want you to join us in this fun new venture! As the Get Kids Crafty! blog hop becomes more successful, we may hunt for more participants. At the moment, we are looking for 3 to 4 people who are on-board with our vision and are willing to unleash their child’s craft genius on the world!
Please fill out THIS FORM telling us a little about yourself and why you want to be a part of our awesome team! We can’t wait to get started!!
