Let’s talk EPIC movies, shall we? Think back to the early 90s, what is the most awesome dinosaur movie that came out at the time? All I’m saying is that I probably have it memorized word for word. 😉

Kindred Stamps has come out with their homage to this pivotal movie. The stamp set is HUGE and EPIC, just like the movie. It’s a 6×8 set! It is FULL of awesome sentiments, characters, dinosaurs, and even some movie props!

For their recent release, I came out with two similar cards. There were a few subtle details, such as sentiments and accents, but really the process for the two was the same.

To start, I stamped and colored my characters in with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Copic Markers.  Then, using a circle die, I partially die cut a circle out. I got as close to my characters as I dared go, then I fussy cut the rest of the circle. You can see on the gentleman’s card that I didn’t quite get it a perfect circle but I still think it is OK.

Next, I stamped my sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut a dotted edge with a Lil’ Inkers Die. Then I moved on to the background of my card. I used watercolor paper because I was literally just messing around with green distress inks and having fun! Once I was happy with my results I sprayed both papers with various shimmer sprays. One was sprayed with some Tattered Angles clear spray and the other with some Heidi Swapp yellow shimmer spray.

Using my tape runner I ran it under as much of the die cut panel as I could, but I needed to use some Ranger Multi Medium Matte Ink to get the smaller parts of the characters glued down. It was at this point that some moisture from my hand spread small bits of green ink onto the lady’s card panel. I was unable to remove this ink with my sand eraser, so I embraced it and covered the green dots with some Nuvo Gloss Drops! At the time I was disappointed, but upon hindsight, I love the look! I intentionally did not add them on the gentleman’s card, Doctor Malcolm wouldn’t tolerate that sort of decoration on a card of his. 😉

Aren’t these cards fun? There are SO many aspects of this stamp set, there is NO END to the creative possibilities inside!

If you’re feeling inspired, and haven’t yet ordered your set, you can do so by using HANNAH10 upon checkout at Kindred Stamps!
