February means that we shift our thinking from the holidays and the chilly winter weather to hearts, love, and we start thinking fondly of the Spring! Never has that been more prevalent than in February’s challenge over at Kat Scrappiness!

This month’s mood board looks like this:

With this mood board in mind, and DYING to play with Kat’s new Alpha Dies, I made this:

I started by using the Lawn Fawn Heart Swatch Stamps and stamping with Distress Oxides in Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick onto Neenah Solar White in 110lb.

Then I took Kat’s new Distressed Edge Rectangle Dies, which have totally become my favorite dies in my craft room, and cut the largest rectangle out. Then I took those large alphabet dies and cut out the word ‘LOVE,” tilting that “O” just slightly. 🙂

Then I took some fun foam, I had pink but you can also use this fun foam here, and trimmed it down smaller than my rectangle with an opening behind where the “O” was at.

Using Scor-Tape, I taped a bit of acetate behind that “O”.

Then I adhered my card front to the fun foam/acetate panel:

Using the same alpha dies, I cut out the “L.O.V.E.” letters out of fun foam and adhered the L, V, and E with more Scor-Tape.

Then, I laid the cardstock cutout of the “O” on top of the acetate just so that I could accurately lay the negative part of the “O” down. I want the actual letter to be the shaker part.

Finally, all I had to do was build my card, adhering it to my card base and sneaking some sequins inside the “O” as I did it!

It is the perfect example of an eclipse card with a shaker element!
