Happy Monday, friends!
I have two cards to share with you today, both basically the same just using different stamps and paper. There were two areas that influenced these cards today: 1) The new release from The Sassy Club. I just wanted to play with these stamps the moment they came in the mail! I had already mentally colored them when I purchased them! 2) A Sketch Challenge in a Facebook group that I am part of. I rarely participate in challenges, mostly because I never see them before the deadline. This challenge I did see far enough in advance, though! And it required me to create a card style that I rarely make! I also struggle with patterned paper, but on this card, I had the most amazing time finding papers that would work for my cards!
This card features Dracula Mellow, a spin-off of one of The Sassy Club‘s little characters. I LOVED the sentiment he came from! I kept the card colors in a Halloween theme. The image was first stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, I colored it in with Copic Markers, and then I re-stamped it with Versamark Watermark Ink and then clear embossed the black. For the layer behind the stamped layer, I colored it with Copic Markers and heat embossed it. The rest of the layers were from some patterned papers I have and some dark blue cardstock.
This card is using Pumpkin Mellow. I stamped and colored it in the same manner as the previous card. The layer behind the stamped layer was also colored with Copic Markers and embossed, the result is a shiny eye-catching layer! In keeping with the October sentiment, I searched my stash for browns and fall themed papers.
It was SO much fun to work on these cards! They came together rather quickly, and the push beyond my personal style was much appreciated! I strongly suspect I’ll start playing with patterned paper more! 😀
