I am a classic movie buff. And by “classic” I mean I really like the movies of the 80s and 90s. What? You thought I meant 50s, 60s, or 70s, didn’t you? Ok, there are a lot of good movies in those eras too. But there are some CLASSICS in the 80s and 90s. Take, for example, the movie that As You Wish is inspired by. Both you and I know ALL the classic lines to it, don’t we? 😉
Simplicity inspired my card and it’s creation. I thought that the images and the sentiments didn’t need any extra work to create a perfect card.
I started by embossing the “As You Wish” sentiment on a sheet of heat resistant acetate.
Then took my card base, a Solar White 110 sheet of cardstock, cut it to an A2 size, then trimmed off a portion of the front. This allows for a hinge area, which makes the card more sturdy. I embossed the princess and the pirate in the center inside, but the top flap needed something though.
I liked the Between the Lines stamp set. It provided the perfect decoration, and the straight lines kind of reminded me of lines in a story, which is what the inspired movie really started out as! I embossed those on the top flap as well.
I adhered the acetate to the inside of the front flap using scor-tape and wet adhesive to ensure they adhered.
