Hi friends! Welcome to the Rita Barakat and Plaid Blog Hop!
It is my extreme pleasure to share with you the project that I created to celebrate this event! I had an incredible time creating my altered brush/paint pallet mixed media project.
There were several products that I used for this project which I’d never previously had the opportunity to play with. Namely all the Plaid products. Don’t get me wrong, I have a fairly respectable collection of Plaid paint and Mod Podge products, but the stuff they sent me to use I hadn’t experienced before.
Take for example the Dragonfly Glaze Gold-Red-Violet Shift paint. When squeezed out of the bottle it is an opaque iridescent white paint. It dries less opaque than it goes on, so if you do a light coating you’ll see lots of the layer underneath. BUT, if you glob it on you’ll barely see what is going on below. It is super flexible in its results and incredibly iridescent!
I found the same iridescent properties on the color shift paints! I so frequently paint something and then have to go over with more iridescent paint after, because I LOVE shimmer! HAHAHA! I don’t have to do that anymore! This paint packs it all in!
Check out my video on how this all came together! It is a long video, nearly 20 minutes I think. But the whole project took over 4 hours, including futzing and drying. It was SO hard to shorten it down to 20 minutes! But it goes fast, you won’t regret spending your time watching it!
I used the following products in this project, wherever possible I used affiliate links at no additional cost to you! Thank you so much for your support!
