Greetings! Today we are celebrating the most recent release for Kindred Stamps! This release is SO full of whimsy! I got to play with the most epic of all stamp sets! My daughter knows that I love ALL things Unicorn! When I first saw this set I knew I had to have it as soon as possible!
I created three cards with this set, two full of snark and one that screams positive reinforcement! I will absolutely be making more of these in the future!
For my first card, I stamped my letters out with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the letters in with Copic Markers, I then fussy cut them out.
I decided to make it a shaker card. Using a 6×6 sheet of Scor-Tape, I adhered it onto a sheet of Neenah cardstock, then I covered the other side of the sticky with silver gilding flakes. I created a frame, for my shaker, using the Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle dies from Kat Scrappiness. I also used the same dies to cut a piece of fun foam. First, I adhered a sheet of acetate to my cardstock frame, then I adhered my magical letters. I adhered my fun foam frame to the back side, I also stuck a few pieces of scrap fun foam to the back side of the letters for support.
At this point things got crazy. I was looking at my sequins and other shaker card filling stuff when my eye caught some fake snow I was using for photo props! I inserted that into my shaker, used much more Scor-Tape to adhere this to my silver gilded cardstock. It didn’t go on exactly evenly because it was super hard to adhere everything upside down, so I trimmed the excess around, the gilded sheet. I found some glitter cardstock, cut it down to an A2 size, and stuck my shaker sandwich to that. This was all put onto a card base and VIOLA! The most magical shaker you’ll ever find!
For my second card, I had a LOT of fun combining the Magical Alphabet set with the Santa’s Elf set for another snarky card. Again, I fussy cut the letters out after I colored them, which is what I did with the elf.
The rest is pretty much die cutting and stamping/masking, it was a pretty quick and easy card to make, I did dust the edges with Distress Inks.
For my third card, I stamped the letters out with black Versafine ink, and then again with Versamark ink so that I could clear emboss the letters with WOW! Clear Embossing Powder. Then, using my Zig Real Brush Markers, I painted the letters. For the background, I did a simple watercolor wash using shiny yellow ink, then adorned it with sequins, the EPIC Rock Candy mix from Kat Scrappiness!
I hope you like my cards! I REALLY hope I’ve inspired you!
